Gold And Silver – Greater Certainty Is Found In Charts

Gold And Silver – Greater Certainty Is Found In Charts

We can assert the trend is down because of lower lows and lower highs. What can be seen, at this point, is a very small range, so far, following a small range in May that closed poorly. What we know for certain is that the downtrend has not yet changed, so lower prices can be expected. We may hold an opinion that gold will ultimately be considerably higher in value, but there is no confirmation that price has begun to rally.

Time Cycle Model for Silver Price

Time Cycle Model for Silver Price

This simple model, which uses only four cycles and an exponential increase, indicates that a low in the silver price was expected approximately February – July 2013, and that the next high is expected approximately March – October 2014 in the $50 – $60 range. Further, the model suggests that a silver price of $90 – $110 is possible in the September 2015 – March 2016 time period. Do not depend solely on a model such as this; it is one of many tools.

Gold & Silver – Reality Does Not Matter. Potemkin COMEX Does.

Even though the weekly gold price looks weak, one should not take anything for granted. The daily gold price chart is more interesting, and it may be the best barometer for what to expect, moving forward. You can see the difference in the price distance. Are we getting a market clue that sellers are running out of effort?

Gold & Silver Price – Monthly, Weekly, Daily Closes. The Story.

Gold & Silver Price – Monthly, Weekly, Daily Closes. The Story.

We hold that the higher time frame charts are more controlling than lower time frames. The month of May had a smaller range on increased volume. What this says is that the buyers were meeting the effort of the sellers, preventing the range from extending lower. The close, about mid-range the month, confirms this observation. That would be the qualified good news.

Gold And Silver – Markets Provide Us The Best Information

Gold And Silver – Markets Provide Us The Best Information

Even with the sharp decline from last month, and the overall decline since September of 2011, there is still bullish spacing. It occurs when the current swing low is above the last swing high, from 2008. It tells us that buyers have been willing to buy into the market without waiting to see how the last swing high will be tested, an overall bullish condition.

Gold & Silver Price Overreact to Fed Speech

Gold & Silver Price Overreact to Fed Speech

The metals have been subject to the same type of trading behaviour. It became blatant once again today. In fact, it is the third time this week that we witness extreme speculation in the metals. Silver, for instance, saw its peak today at $23.20 and its lows at $22.15, a difference of almost 5% intraday. Note that the peak on the charts was during the speech of Mr. Bernanke. A bit later, prices came down triggered by one specific sentence in the speech.

Gold & Silver Price Subject To Greediness Of Traders

Gold & Silver Price Subject To Greediness Of Traders

Short covering, triggered by rumours of a potential US downgrade from Moody’s, are sending gold and silver prices vertical. The move higher comes after a very suspicious spike this night in which the silver price was pushed 10% lower within the first hour of Asian trading (with a bank holiday in Europe). The charts show the price action in today’s trading sessions. In our own words: folly of the highest degree, or the metals being subject to greediness of traders.

Silver Price Recovers From Its Flash Crash

Silver Price Recovers From Its Flash Crash

The silver price has recovered most of its losses of Asian trading. For now, we believe that the downward pressure on the metals prices has reached a point where a bounce (at least a temporary one) is imminent. Too many technical traders are in the bearish camp. Meantime, the commercials have positioned themselves increasingly long. It seems that they are ready to extend their profits on a rally, after their gigantic profits during the crash mid-April. The ferocity of a potential short covering should be the main theme at the desk of the commercials right now.

Silver Price Down 7% Right After Asian Opening

Silver Price Down 7% Right After Asian Opening

At the time of writing, it is midnight GMT (London) / 7 PM EST (New York) / 8 AM in Tokyo. The Asian market opened less than an hour ago. Large parts of Europe have a bank holiday today. So that means very thin trading. What happens? Really seconds after opening of Asian trading silver falls down from $22.3 to $20.8 in a matter of minutes.

Are Gold & Silver Prices Behaving Counterintuitively

Are Gold & Silver Prices Behaving Counterintuitively

Notably gold and silver are behaving in a very counterintuitive way. Somehow it is not surprising as there are opposing forces in the markets out there. On the one hand, gold and silver are under pressure because of declining commodity prices, a rising stock market, and a relatively strengthening US dollar. On the other hand, easy monetary policies should support precious metals.

Silver Low – Probably

Silver Low – Probably

Unfortunately, there is not, that I can see, a simple pattern that predicts the next low in the price of silver. Markets seldom make it that easy. However, there are patterns that provide valuable information to help illuminate the “big picture” perspective of where the current price of silver lies in the up-down-up-down cycle of prices.

Will The Price Of Gold & Silver Continue To Go Lower?

Will the price of gold and silver continue to go lower. We think they will. Does that mean you should wait before buying more? That has now become a personal decision that needs to be viewed in the context of what has been expressed above, and there are so many other instances that can be cited.

Gold & Silver – Bullish Hopes In A Bear Market While Trend Wins

Gold & Silver – Bullish Hopes In A Bear Market While Trend Wins

The point is to keep a level head in what appears to be turmoil for the real turmoil is on the other side, the opposition to PMs as a known alternative to the issue of worthless fiat. We cannot say nothing has changed, for price just got lower, but the attempt to destroy whatever opposes fiat debt is obviously a high priority for central planners, and their message is very clear: they will stop at nothing to continue their fraud. Nothing.

Silver Sentiment Reaches Extreme Levels

Silver Sentiment Reaches Extreme Levels

Silver this week also finally shows that sentiment has also finally fallen to bull market lows. We know that when sentiment reaches these levels of extremes (see Green lines on below chart), that it has always marked a significant low. As Silver has retraced back to its 2 year support area (low $26 area), sentiment has dropped even further this time compared to past lows.
