How High Is “Sky-High” Silver?

How High Is “Sky-High” Silver?

Now that the precious metals’ five-year cyclical bear market is acting like it’s been replaced by a vibrant bull run in the opposite direction (up!), many analysts who chided the ongoing rise in the mining stocks and metals that started in December 2015 are begrudgingly changing their “outlook” so they don’t get left behind.

Trouble Is Brewing in the Paper Markets for Gold and Silver

By Clint Siegner, Money Metals Exchange Precious metals bulls question why metals prices keep falling in the face of what appears to be strong demand and great fundamental reasons for prices to move higher instead. The bears have some answers of course. You can’t eat gold, it’s basically a pet rock, and modern financial systems are doing just fine without anything as antiquated as bullion gumming up the works. The bears are declaring victory and saying the market has spoken. They ought to look a bit deeper into recent developments. Outside of the price action, there is very little to support claims that gold and silver are relics of the […]

Precious Metals: Contratrend Rallies And Technical Price Levels

Gold Spot price slipped to test the prior low at 1,143, below the 2005 uptrend and MAs, holding flat. The recent low may carry a potential positive divergence in the weekly momentum with a higher low on the recent test versus the late 2014 price low, but the current weekly reading is negative and would need to turn positive. One can note a similar positive divergence on the 2013 test of price support with a higher momentum low, followed by a minimal rally.

Global Insanity Prevails, But Precious Metals Remain Directionless

The timing for any collapse of the banking system and the mistaken belief it will foster a new gold-backed system keeps getting pushed back for as long as smaller governments like Greece, actually all the PIIGS, can be kept subservient to the 1%’s bidding, for as long as the US war machine can keep all the other smaller countries in fear while the US mounts a false flag attack on Russia via the US-induced coup in Ukraine, gold and silver will remain as pawns in these dirty wars. One thing is certain, having physical gold and silver will provide a store of value for those who hold either or both.

17 Gold And Silver Charts Forecasting No Rally Is Coming (Yet)

While the 17 charts in this article are not compelling, they do provide a perspective that clearly says gold is unlikely to turn around and change trend regardless of whatever news you may read or some pundit claiming an upside move is imminent, or worse, already underway. The charts do not lie.

Chart Analysis – Gold And Silver Price Trending Lower Until Demand Returns

The breaking of support in September is a narrower range bar relative to a similar break of support in the 2nd Q, six bars from the right on the Qtrly chart. Irrespective of where price may find support, the developing market activity shows no sign of bottoming, and the trend will not change until a bottom forms. Time-wise, this does not argue for a near-term turn from down to at least sideways, before going higher.

Gold And Silver In Trading Range But Aided By Commodity Sector

This emerging market issue has not really benefitted the US Dollar to the extent that some of us were expecting based on the recent past. If anything, the Yen has been the favored currency along with the Swiss Franc. While the Dollar has not been weak, it certainly has not been powering higher as it is wont to do during these crisis events. This has enabled gold to garner some inflows.

Gold And Silver – Markets Provide Us The Best Information

Even with the sharp decline from last month, and the overall decline since September of 2011, there is still bullish spacing. It occurs when the current swing low is above the last swing high, from 2008. It tells us that buyers have been willing to buy into the market without waiting to see how the last swing high will be tested, an overall bullish condition.
