Bloomberg reports that a Hong Kong based hedge-fund is converting one-third of its assets into PHYSICAL gold. It is not usual for a hedge fund to go outside the paper based trading business. More importantly, the fact that the investment company takes delivery of the metal ($35 million worth of gold bars) shows a growing distrust vis-à-vis paper investments and the exponentially expanding funny money base.

SLV ETF Adds 571 Tonnes Of Physical Silver To Its Holdings

Earlier this week, BlackRock reported that they added 571.63 tonnes of new physical silver backing to their popular silver ETF iShares Silver Trust (SLV). That is the largest one day addition since December 31, 2007. The bullion is held by the trust’s custodian in London. No explanation was given and experts do not real see the reasons for this important addition.

The German Bundesbank published a press release yesterday in which they announce the start of the repatriation of their country’s gold. The Bundesbank plans to transfer 300 tonnes of gold from New York and all of its gold stored in Paris, 374 tonnes, to Frankfurt. By 2020, it wants to hold half of the nearly 3,400 tonnes of gold in Frankfurt, where it stores about a third of its reserves.

Peter Schiff explains how the official price inflation measurement is not reflecting the daily reality. Our intuition already knew this but now it has also been proven statistically. Between 1970 and 1980 the officially reported CPI rose a whopping 112%, and prices of the anlayzed basket of goods and services rose by 117%, just a 4% faster than the CPI. In contrast between 2002 and 2012 the CPI rose just 27.5%. But the basket much faster, accounting for a 62% difference!
